Check-6 is a leader in team development for high hazard operations desiring high reliability solutions with predictable outcomes by bringing the proven solutions from the military and commercial aviation industries. In Vince’s case, his experience stems from his 24-year service flying fighter jets for the U.S. Navy and experience as a military diplomat. He repeatedly served as a flight and tactics instructor, including a tour as a TOPGUN instructor in Fallon, NV. He flew all models of the F-14 Tomcat and F/A-18 Hornet while accumulating over 2900 flight hours, 449 aircraft carrier landings and 45 combat missions. In recognition of his distinguished service, he has received the U.S. Legion of Merit, the Chilean Navy Naval Order of Merit (Category of Knight), and multiple combat “V” awards for valor in combat.

Due to his extensive experience in South America, Vince was later selected to be the Naval Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Santiago, Chile, where he and his family lived for four years. Bluto is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese (Brazilian).

Since joining Check-6 in November 2009, Vince has held multiple positions within Check-6 including performance coaching in Brazil/Mexico/United States/Canada, Director for Global Mining Operations, Director for Latin American Operations, and VP of Western Hemisphere. In addition to his military experience, Vince has first-hand knowledge in applying proven best practices from the Mining, O&G, and Construction markets.

In 2012, Vince was selected to spear-head the diversification effort into the mining industry. He has coached and directed operations at open pit mines, underground mines, mine processing facilities within the metal/non-metal and coal sectors. Vince has successfully completed MSHA part 48, Underground and Surface Miner training for metal / non-metal and coal operations.

An Aerospace Engineer from Texas A&M University by education, Vince has demonstrated a track record of affecting culture changes in high reliability organizations resulting in dramatic performance and safety improvements.

Vince enjoys spending time with his family camping, waterskiing, snow skiing and road cycling.
