BlackLion joined Check-6 January 2013. He brings a myriad of professional experience and the highest level of organizational leadership at the Senior Management level. His affable personality and “lead from-the-front” style comes from his 26 years in the Marine Corps. BlackLion is an Afghanistan Combat Veteran and retired Master Sergeant. During his tenure in the Marines, he conducted background checks and investigations for all levels of security clearances for the Marine Fighter Attack Squadrons. He later became the Security Inspector and Senior Advisor directly to the Commanding General, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, New Orleans, LA.
His business management and strategic leadership is attributed to the education he received from Albany State and Devry Universities. Immediately after he retired from the Marine Corps in 2012, he went to work for BP Oil & Gas as the Trainer of Security Operations in Houston. Since coming to Check-6, He became the Respiratory Mask-Fit and H2S Instructor in 2013. In 2014, he received certification as the Safeland/Safegulf Instructor from the Petroleum Education Council (PEC), New Orleans. He is currently the HSSE Director. In 2017 he received certification as Safety Director(CSD) and License Safety Professional (LSP) from the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP).
