The numbers are now official for the August golf tournament benefitting Team River Runner. The inspirational group, headquartered in Washington D.C., helps wounded veterans on the “River to Recovery” with adaptive paddle sports.
Check-6 is proud to be the lead sponsor of the tournament, which we now know raised $60,598.70. This makes a combined total of $152,000 over the past few years of the tourney. Check-6 Founder and CEO Brian “Bru” Brurud: “Team River Runner continues to do the impossible life-saving work every day. Executive Director Joe Mornini is nothing short of an extraordinary man with a passion for helping veterans who are hurting. It is our pleasure to assist TRR to help them continue their life-saving mission.”
Volunteers Deni Lorson and Lorront Carney, classmates of “Bru” were recognized by the Oklahoma State Senate for their work in making it happen, and the many lives it has changed. Well done!
