Dan “Uecker” Baxter joined Check-6 in May of 2013 bringing over 24 years of military leadership experience and expertise in operational planning and execution, risk management and dynamic team building.  He was commissioned from the United States Naval Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Varsity letters in Rugby.  He received his Master’s in Business Administration from the Jones School of Business from Rice University.

He earned his aviation wings in June 1996 in Kingsville, TX and reported to VF-101, the “Grim Reapers” at NAS Oceana, VA for initial F-14A “Tomcat” training. Dan flew combat missions in all Strike-fighter aircraft in his generation, the F-14A “Tomcat”, the F/A-18 E/F “Rhino” and the F/A-18C “Hornet”. His tours involved combat operations in multiple theatres, including Iraq and Afghanistan.  He amassed over 3,200 flight hours and 720 arrestments off 9 different aircraft carriers throughout his career.  He was chosen to lead the dynamic rescue operations of the USS Ronald Reagan, which spearheaded the multi-service and country humanitarian relief efforts during Japan’s 2011 tsunami and nuclear fallout crisis.  Those efforts saved countless lives and delivered over 774,000 tons of relief supplies, greatly reducing suffering and expediting recovery efforts.

From December 2011 to March 2013, Dan commanded the VFA-146 Blue Diamonds, flying the F/A-18C Hornet and leading 220 officer and enlisted personnel to the highest promotion and re-enlistment rates in the Airwing.  His command was lauded for exceptionally safe maintenance and combat operation of the Naval Aviation’s oldest aircraft during intense operational requirements under significant personnel and cost constraints.

Dan is dual-hatted as a key member of the Check-6 Leadership team in Projects’ operational execution ensuring valued Customer Success and leads the company’s key global account in BD and Sales.  He works extensively with clients ashore and offshore worldwide to deliver world-class Operations, Change Management and Safety Performance. He is a sought-after executive leadership coach and consultant with many key industry leaders.

When not at work, Dan spends his time playing soccer, smoking cigars, travelling with his family and cheering them on in their athletic endeavors.
