Michael “Tung” Peterson
Meet Michael “Tung” Peterson, Director of Products, Services and Standards for Check-6. During his time in the Navy, Tung played a fascinating role assisting the Special Operations Forces from the air during the war effort in the Middle East in the hours following 9/11. The SOF were on horseback! In fact, a movie was made about it called “Twelve Strong.” He’ll tell you about his time as a Radar Intercept Officer while on deployment on the USS Carl Vinson, which was the closest aircraft carrier near the Strait of Hormuz and Afghanistan. Tung earned an Individual Air Medal with “V” for valor for his efforts during this time. Listen as he tells you about the Special Operations crews leading the war effort on horseback. Incredible!
